Hill regions of the UK

These are the standard hill-survey regions used by the Database of British & Irish Hills — the numbered areas ("01A: Loch Tay to Perth", "34C: The Lake District — Southern Fells", and so on) that hill lists and guidebooks have organised summits by for decades. Pick a region to see every hill we track there, with heights, classifications and access rights.

Scotland — 66 regions · 1,030 hills

England — 15 regions · 501 hills

Wales — 11 regions · 193 hills

Northern Ireland — 3 regions · 16 hills

Region boundaries and hill data come from the Database of British & Irish Hills v18.3 (CC BY 4.0). The number after each region is how many hills from our 1,740-hill dataset fall inside it. Wondering what you're allowed to do once you get there? Read the country-by-country access-rights guide or query an exact spot with the access checker.
