About Creigiau Gleision North Top

Creigiau Gleision North Top caps the northern end of the Creigiau Gleision ridge in Eryri, near Capel Curig, and is a significant top on that crest rather than a hill standing alone.

Carnedd Llewelyn is better seen from here than from the main Creigiau Gleision summit, because Pen Llithrig y Wrach obscures less of it. The top reaches nearly 632 m and is a Hewitt, Nuttall and Simm.

Which hill this one belongs to

Creigiau Gleision North Top is not counted as an independent hill in its own right. In prominence terms it belongs to Creigiau Gleision (676 m) — the nearest Marilyn you can reach from this summit without first dropping below its key col, 596 m.

Grouping is by prominence alone: a summit belongs to the nearest higher Marilyn it connects to without a deeper intervening col. Over a large massif that can gather hills no one would walk in a single day, and which few would describe as parts of the same mountain — it is a measure of independence, not a suggested route.
