The Broads
Britain’s largest protected wetland: a low-lying network of rivers and shallow lakes (the ‘broads’, flooded medieval peat diggings) set among reedbeds, grazing marshes and windpumps. It holds equivalent status to a national park under the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads Act 1988, which adds navigation to the usual park purposes. Walking is entirely flat, on riverside banks, marsh paths and long-distance routes such as the Weavers’ Way.

Access in this park
Lowland and largely farmed: keep to public rights of way, riverside paths and permissive trails — there is very little CRoW open access land here, and wild camping needs the landowner’s permission.
Conditional Right to roam (England): Right to roam only on mapped CRoW open access land.
Conditional Wild camping (England): Permission needed — except on the Dartmoor commons.
