About Tryfan

Tryfan rises from the Ogwen Valley as part of the Glyderau, and its pointed profile and broken crags make it one of the most readily identified mountains in Britain. Trail magazine readers voted it their favourite British mountain.

Its height was accepted as 915 metres from the mid-1980s until June 2010, when a GPS resurvey put it at 917.5 metres — 2.4 metres higher, and in line with what pre-1980s surveys had found. That makes it the fifteenth-highest mountain in Wales. In Arthurian tradition it is the burial place of Sir Bedivere, Bedwyr.
