About Castell y Gwynt

Castell y Gwynt, the Castle of the Wind, is a top of Glyder Fach rather than a mountain in its own right, rising from the Glyderau in north-west Wales. It is better known as a feature of the ridge than as a summit.

With a prominence of just 15.7 m, it joined the Nuttalls only after resurveying in 2007, and it holds the distinction of being the sole Welsh 3000 ft top classed as a Nuttall alone, which keeps it off the Welsh 3000s round. Together with the nearby Cantilever Stone it appeared in the 1981 film Dragonslayer.
