Scafell

About Scafell

Scafell is the second-highest mountain in England, standing 964 metres above the central Lake District in Cumbria. Only its neighbour Scafell Pike is higher, and the two are divided by the col of Mickledore.

The name has been written in several ways over the years, including Sca Fell and, earlier, Scawfell.
