About Moel-yr-hydd

Moel-yr-hydd is a subsidiary summit of Moelwyn Mawr in the Moelwynion of Snowdonia, looking down on the village of Tanygrisiau and its halt on the Ffestiniog Railway, from where the mountain is commonly ascended.

Wrysgan Quarry was worked on the north-east flank from the 1830s until 1946, and substantial underground chambers were cut beneath the summit.
