About Moel Cynghorion
Moel Cynghorion, the hill of the councillors, lies two miles north-west of Snowdon and forms one leg of the Moel Eilio Horseshoe. Its southern slopes are gentle; the northern side is precipitous. The summit sits on a wide plateau and is marked by a pile of stones.
From the top there are close views of Clogwyn Du'r Arddu and of Yr Wyddfa itself, and on a clear day the outlook reaches to Caernarfon, Llanrug and Llanberis, out to Holyhead on Anglesey, and across the Irish Sea to the Wicklow Mountains some 80 miles off.
