Haycock

About Haycock

Haycock lies between Scoat Fell and Caw Fell, with Ennerdale to the north and Wasdale to the south. It is a dome-shaped fell of some bulk, and its distance from a road keeps walker numbers lower than its size might suggest.

Either valley gives access, and the mountain views from the top are good.

Finding the summit

The recorded summit point is large cairn on rock on S side of wall. That distinction matters on broad or flat tops, where the obvious cairn is not always the true high point.
