About The Cobbler
The Cobbler stands near the head of Loch Long in Argyll and Bute, within the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Many maps give the Gaelic-derived Ben Arthur, from Beinn Artair, but the English name is the one in general use; in the 19th century the hill was known as The Cobbler and his Wife.
It is a Corbett and one of the more important rock climbing venues in the Southern Highlands. The summit height is given here as 884 m.
