About Ben Donich

Ben Donich, or Beinn Dòmhnaich, is the highest mountain on the Ardgoil peninsula, part of the Arrochar Alps near Loch Goil in Argyll and Bute. With The Brack it makes up the Ardgoil pair. Lochgoilhead is the nearest village.

In shape it is essentially a square pyramid, the summit sitting at the meeting point of four ridges. One runs north-west into Gleann Mòr; another drops south into the wooded glen of the Donich Water. The south-east ridge, which links the hill to The Brack over Bealach Dubh-lic at 384 metres where a footpath crosses from Glen Croe to Lochgoilhead, is the most used of the four. Forestry plantation covers much of the lower ground on all sides.
