Reston Scar

About Reston Scar

Reston Scar looks down on the north side of Staveley village from 255 metres, and is one of the fells listed in Wainwright's The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. He described the climb from Staveley and called it a fine place for a siesta on a sunny day.

From the top the Coniston Fells, the Sca Fells and the Langdale Pikes are all in view. Several small ponds lie on the Scar; the main footpath from Staveley runs south of Kemp Tarn, the largest of them.
