About Llechwedd Du

Llechwedd Du is a subsidiary summit of Esgeiriau Gwynion, forming a long peat bog plateau that runs from the end of that hill's south ridge to the higher Moel y Cerrig Duon. The summit stands on one of the large peat hags at the plateau's western edge, marked by a few stones.

Moel y Cerrig Duon, Foel y Geifr and the Berwyn range lie to the east, Gwaun Lydan to the south, and Aran Fawddwy with Foel Hafod-fynydd to the west. A road crosses the plateau at Bwlch y Groes, the pass dividing Llechwedd Du from Moel y Cerrig Duon.
