About Glaramara
Glaramara is the middle of a ridge running better than six kilometres from Stonethwaite in Borrowdale to Esk Hause, the major pass at its far end. The summit, at 783 metres, marks the central point of that line, which divides Langstrath from Grains Gill.
The ridge carries two further fells besides Glaramara, along with a scatter of subsidiary tops and several small tarns, so a full traverse is a long and demanding outing rather than a single summit visit.

Finding the summit
Nuttall summit; Wainwright summit (cairn) 160m NE at NY 24722 10561 and cairn 55m W are both c 1m lower.
The recorded summit point is pointed rock 10m south of cairn. That distinction matters on broad or flat tops, where the obvious cairn is not always the true high point.

Which hill this one belongs to
Glaramara is not counted as an independent hill in its own right. In prominence terms it belongs to Scafell Pike (978 m) — the nearest Marilyn you can reach from this summit without first dropping below its key col, 661 m.
Grouping is by prominence alone: a summit belongs to the nearest higher Marilyn it connects to without a deeper intervening col. Over a large massif that can gather hills no one would walk in a single day, and which few would describe as parts of the same mountain — it is a measure of independence, not a suggested route.
