About Calf Top
Calf Top stands in the western Yorkshire Dales, in Cumbria but with Lancashire and North Yorkshire both close by. Seen from the smaller hills to the west, such as Lambrigg Fell and Hutton Roof Crags, it makes a dominating profile.
The deep trench of Barbondale cuts it off from its neighbours Great Coum and Aye Gill Pike. That separation gives it substantial relative height despite it being lower than most hills in the region, and it qualifies as a Marilyn as well as a Hewitt, Nuttall, HuMP and Simm.
