About Aran Benllyn

Aran Benllyn is a subsidiary top of Aran Fawddwy and the second highest summit in the Aran range of southern Snowdonia. It anchors the northern end of the main Aran ridge, rising from the southern shore of Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake), with Erw y Ddafad-ddu lying between it and Aran Fawddwy.

The top carries a few rocky outcrops and a small cairn. Llyn Tegid lies to the north, Foel y Geifr east, Erw y Ddafad-ddu south and Rhobell Fawr with Cadair Idris to the west. Two lakes sit close by to the north-east, Llyn Lliwbran and the smaller Llyn Pen Aran.
