About Y Garn

Y Garn, also recorded as Drum Peithnant, is a subsidiary summit of Pen Pumlumon Fawr and the fourth highest point on the Plynlimon massif, in the Cambrian Mountains of Ceredigion.

Its top is marked by a large shelter cairn hollowed out of an ancient burial cairn. The view runs south to Rhos Fawr, Drygarn Fawr and Pen y Garn, and north to Aran Fawddwy, Glasgwm, Tarrenhendre and Tarren y Gesail, with Nant-y-moch Reservoir below and the smaller Marilyns of Drosgol (550 m) and Banc Llechwedd-mawr (560 m).
