About Waun Lefrith

Waun Lefrith is the westernmost of the Carmarthen Fans, or Bannau Sir Gaer, within the Black Mountain in the west of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, and is reckoned a top of Picws Du. Picws Du and Fan Foel are the higher summits of the group. The top of Waun Lefrith is a plateau at 2,221 ft.

The glacial lake of Llyn y Fan Fach fills the view north, with the Usk Reservoir and the far line of the Cambrian Mountains beyond it. Southwards, across the mountain's dip slope, Swansea Bay and the Bristol Channel come into view. The Tywi valley lies west, with Llandovery and Llandeilo the nearest market towns.
