About Watson's Dodd

On the main spine of the Helvellyn range, Watson's Dodd registers as little more than a slight lift in the ridge — but seen from the west it reads quite differently, throwing out a prominent shoulder from the Eastern Fells.

Below that western flank stands Castle Rock, a substantial crag where rock climbers have worked out something in the region of 60 named routes.
