About Shipman Knotts

Shipman Knotts lies about 2 km north-east of Kentmere village, in one of the quieter corners of the Lake District National Park.

It is not among the better-known fells, but Wainwright gave it a chapter of its own in the Pictorial Guide, citing its characteristic roughness and the rocky outcrops scattered across its steep slopes. The summit reaches 587 m.
