About Sgurr Eilde Mor
Sgurr Eilde Mor is a steep, conical peak in the Mamores, 6 kilometres north-east of Kinlochleven. It is built of scree and quartzite boulders under a capping layer of schist, and at 1,010 metres its Munro status draws a steady stream of hillwalkers.
Most ascents start at Kinlochleven, following a stalkers' path to the col at Coire an Lochan and then taking either the south or the west ridge, both of which climb steep, bouldery ground.
