About Sergeant Man

Sergeant Man is strictly a secondary summit of High Raise rather than a separate fell, but its rocky cone stands in sharp contrast to the grassy dome of its parent.

Alfred Wainwright gave it a chapter of its own in his third Pictorial Guide on the grounds that it is too prominent and too tempting to ignore. It reaches 736 m and is listed as a Wainwright, Birkett, Synge and Fellranger fell in the central Lake District.
