About Moel Penamnen

Just north of Blaenau Ffestiniog, Moel Penamnen forms part of the Moelwynion. Its position between the Crimea Pass to the west and Cwm Penamnen to the north puts it within reach of several starting points, and a circuit of Cwm Penamnen can take in Y Ro Wen as well.

Manod Mawr is its parent peak, but the ground between the two is heavily worked: the intervening pass is very boggy and the surrounding area holds mines, air shafts and open quarries. The summit reaches 628 m and appears in the Hewitt and Nuttall lists.
