About Hartsop Above How

Hartsop Above How is a fell in the Eastern Fells of the English Lake District, in Westmorland and Furness. An outlier of the Helvellyn range, it stands above Brothers Water and the road between Ullswater and Ambleside, and is counted among the Wainwrights.

The name originally belonged not to the hill but to a nineteenth-century township in the parish of Patterdale; it has since come to be applied to the fell itself.
