Carron Crag

About Carron Crag

Carron Crag rises to 314 m within Grizedale Forest, making it the second highest point in the forest after Top o'Selside. Beside the trig point stands a large panopticon sculpture, one of more than seventy artworks placed among the trees.

Wainwright included the crag in The Outlying Fells of Lakeland and set out a circular walk from Grizedale.

Carron Crag is not counted as an independent hill in its own right. In prominence terms it belongs to Top o' Selside — the nearest Marilyn you can reach from this summit without first dropping below its key col, 240 m. That hill is outside the lists OpenFell publishes, so it has no page here.
