About Birkhouse Moor

Birkhouse Moor is, in strict terms, an eastern ridge of Helvellyn rather than an independent fell, an outlier of the Helvellyn group in the Eastern Fells of the Lake District. Alfred Wainwright chose to treat it separately in his Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells, and that convention has stuck, which is why it appears here under its own name.
