Barf

About Barf

Barf rises from the south-western shore of Bassenthwaite Lake in the north-western Lake District. Its best-known feature sits well below the summit: a whitewashed pillar of rock on the lower slopes, known as the Bishop's Rock or the Bishop of Barf. The fell's name is thought to derive from burgh.
