Walkers generally know this top as Archy Styrigg, although Ordnance Survey maps attach that name to the plateau at about 680 m lying south-west of the summit, along Mallerstang Edge; the Wikipedia article title, Gregory Chapel, is the alternative. It is one of three high points on Mallerstang Edge, with High Seat roughly 1 km north and Hugh Seat about 1.26 km south-south-east, and it sits on the Cumbria/North Yorkshire boundary.

The summit carries a conspicuous cairn, taller and squarer than others in the area, with a sheep shelter close by. Limestone dominates the local rock, capped by Millstone Grit outcrops on the tops. Prominence is slight amid so many neighbouring high points, and the ground here is really one broad, boggy plateau that seldom falls far below 600 m on the 5.4 km stretch to Great Shunner Fell. Wild Boar Fell and Swarth Fell stand 5 km west across Mallerstang.
