About Dovey Junction station
Dovey Junction (Welsh: Cyffordd Dyfi) is the station where the Cambrian Line splits, one arm running to Aberystwyth and the other — the Cambrian Coast Line — to Pwllheli. It has a single island platform and sits between Machynlleth to the east, Borth to the south and Penhelig to the north, 127.2 km from Whitchurch measured via Oswestry. Passenger services are provided by Transport for Wales.
The station stands in Powys, about 400 metres north-east of the meeting point of three counties — the present-day principal areas of Ceredigion, Powys and Gwynedd, corresponding to the traditional counties of Cardiganshire, Montgomeryshire and Merionethshire.

A hill 8 km away in a straight line can be a much longer day on the ground — and on rural lines the last train home leaves early and some stations are request stops with a handful of services a day. Check live times and facilities for Dovey Junction before you commit, plan the route on a proper map, and give the daylight planner your real finish time.
