Yarlside

About Yarlside

Yarlside is one of the Howgill Fells, in what is now Westmorland and Furness but historically Westmorland, and lies within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It rises to just over 639 m and is a Hewitt, Nuttall, Marilyn and Simm.

The name causes confusion elsewhere in the region. A separate Yarlside near Barrow-in-Furness, once served by the Yarlside Iron Mines tramway, lies about 53 km west, and Great Yarlside and Little Yarlside sit some 18 km north-west on the eastern edge of the Lake District.
