Stainton Pike

About Stainton Pike

Stainton Pike sits near Waberthwaite in the western Lake District and has a chapter to itself in Wainwright's The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. His anticlockwise circuit also takes in The Knott at 326 metres.

The walk passes two features of interest below the summit: the waterfall of Rowantree Force, and the group of ancient enclosures and hut circles known as Barnscar, or the City of Barnscar. The hill is listed as a Wainwright Outlying Fell, Birkett, Synge and Fellranger.
