About Slieve Bearnagh
Slieve Bearnagh is one of the Mourne Mountains in County Down, reaching 739 m. Two tors crown the summit with a gap between them, and that notch gives the mountain both its profile and its name.
The Mourne Wall crosses the top from east to west. Paths reach the cols on either side: Pollaphuca to the west, from the Irish Poll an Phúca, 'hole of the púca', and Hare's Gap to the east, from which a descent runs south to the head of the Ben Crom reservoir.
