About Lingmoor Fell
Lingmoor Fell forms the ridge dividing Great Langdale from Little Langdale, some eight kilometres west of Ambleside. The name comes from the Old Norse lyng, meaning heather-covered, and the summit itself is labelled Brown How on Ordnance Survey maps — the alternative name still carried in the tables.
