About Holme Fell

Holme Fell, also written Holm Fell, lies between Coniston Water and Little Langdale. Yewdale Beck all but severs it from the Coniston Fells behind, leaving it as a near-independent lump of high ground at the southern edge of the district.

Just under 316 metres, it counts as a Wainwright, Marilyn, HuMP, Birkett, Synge and Fellranger.

Finding the summit

Surveyor's note

cairn on large rock outcrop (Birkett) 60m NNE at NY 31529 00655 is 0.5m lower; rock outcrop 110m NNE at NY 31557 00699 is 0.2m lower.

The recorded summit point is rock 60m SSW of cairn. That distinction matters on broad or flat tops, where the obvious cairn is not always the true high point.
