About Croft Head

Croft Head belongs to the Ettrick Hills in the Southern Uplands, and its position gives it a wide outlook: the Solway Firth, the Cumbrian fells and the Pennines to the south and east, the Moffat Hills close by to the north, and Queensberry, the Lowthers and much of the Galloway range to the west.

The Southern Upland Way runs past the hill east of the Moffat Water bridge near Craigbeck, and a circuit taking in Gateshaw Rig and Cat Shoulder is possible. Croft Head is a Graham, a Donald and a Marilyn.
