About Cefn yr Ystrad
Cefn yr Ystrad is an outlier of the Central Beacons, set apart from the main group and rising east of Pontsticill Reservoir. It takes the form of a broad ridge running north-east to south-west, reaching 619 m.
The summit area is a wide sweep of moorland, with a trig point at the highest point. It ranks among the southernmost peaks in the national park, and its list credentials include Hewitt, Nuttall, Marilyn, HuMP and Simm.
