About Ben Vorlich
Set between Loch Lomond and Loch Sloy, Ben Vorlich - Beinn Mhurlaig in Gaelic - is the northern outlier of the Arrochar Alps in the Southern Highlands of Argyll. At 943 metres it clears Munro height comfortably.
It also carries a piece of administrative history: the summit is the highest ground in the historic county of Dunbartonshire. The hill's eastern flank drops towards the shore of Loch Lomond, where both the A82 and the West Highland railway line thread along above the water, so the mountain is unusually visible from a main transport corridor.
