About Ebbw Vale Parkway station
Ebbw Vale Parkway (Welsh: Parcffordd Glyn Ebwy) is a station on the Ebbw Valley Railway. It opened on 6 February 2008, when passenger services to and from Cardiff Central began on what had been a freight-only line for the previous 46 years; a northwards extension to a new terminus at Ebbw Vale Town followed on 17 May 2015.
The station was built on the site of the former Victoria station, in the Victoria area of the Ebbw Vale conurbation, and consists of a single platform beside Glan Ebbw Terrace, close to the A4046 Station Road. Services are operated by Transport for Wales.

A hill 8 km away in a straight line can be a much longer day on the ground — and on rural lines the last train home leaves early and some stations are request stops with a handful of services a day.
