About Wolfhole Crag
Wolfhole Crag is an isolated, rarely visited 527-metre hill in the Forest of Bowland in Lancashire, England, its seclusion owing partly to its low profile and the long approach walks needed to reach it. It marks the north-westernmost boundary of the civil parish of Bowland Forest High, the historic Forest of Bowland and the Lordship of Bowland.
A 'wolf hole' at the base of the south-facing side of the east crag is presumably how the hill gained its name. A long path, much troubled by bogs, approaches from Ward's Stone in the west and is met halfway by a tarmac path from Tarnbrook, while a further route comes in from the north-east off the Hornby Road in the direction of White Hill.

Which hill this one belongs to
Wolfhole Crag is not counted as an independent hill in its own right. In prominence terms it belongs to Ward's Stone (562 m) — the nearest Marilyn you can reach from this summit without first dropping below its key col, 489 m.
Grouping is by prominence alone: a summit belongs to the nearest higher Marilyn it connects to without a deeper intervening col. Over a large massif that can gather hills no one would walk in a single day, and which few would describe as parts of the same mountain — it is a measure of independence, not a suggested route.
