The Nab

About The Nab

The Nab occupies the quieter eastern high ground of the Lake District, between Ullswater and Haweswater Reservoir, reaching 576 metres.

Its place on Alfred Wainwright's list is the main reason walkers seek it out, since those working through the Wainwrights need it to finish. The fell is not a prominent one and access to it is awkward.

The Nab is not counted as an independent hill in its own right. In prominence terms it belongs to High Street (829 m) — the nearest Marilyn you can reach from this summit without first dropping below its key col, 513 m.
