About Mullach nan Coirean

The Gaelic name translates as 'summit of the corries'; an alternative, Sgurr a' Chaorainn, means 'peak of the rowan'. Mullach nan Coirean is the westernmost of the ten Munros in the Mamores, reaching 939 metres.

A subsidiary top, Meall a' Chaorainn at 910 metres, lies to the west. Eastwards a bealach at 846 metres connects the hill to Stob Ban, and the two Munros are frequently taken together on a round out of Glen Nevis.
