About Moel Ysgyfarnogod

Moel Ysgyfarnogod, whose Welsh name means bare hill of the hares, is the northernmost of the Rhinogydd, with Rhinog Fawr directly to the south. It looks over Llyn Trawsfynydd, and Porthmadog and Blaenau Ffestiniog are both visible from the 623 m top. Approaches run from Trawsfynydd on the east side or Talsarnau on the west.

North-west of the summit, among moorland and rocky outcrops, stands Bryn Cader Faner, an ancient stone circle with rocky standing stones set around its circumference. It ranks among the finest Bronze Age cairns in Britain.
