About Caw

Caw rises above the Duddon Valley near Seathwaite, reaching 529 metres with a trig point at the top (grid reference SD231945). Wainwright devoted a chapter of The Outlying Fells of Lakeland to it, with an anticlockwise round from Seathwaite returning over Pikes at 460 metres and Green Pikes at 410 metres.

Mark Richards includes it among the 21 Fellranger summits that fall outside Wainwright's 214, calling it a great stand-alone fell with plenty to offer the explorer. It also carries Birkett, Clem, Dewey, Dodd, HuMP and Synge listings.
