About Carn Mor Dearg
Càrn Mòr Dearg — 'great red cairn' — is the eighth-highest mountain in Scotland and the British Isles, standing a short way north-east of Ben Nevis. The two are joined by the curving Càrn Mòr Dearg arête, generally shortened to the CMD arête.
With Càrn Dearg Meadhanach ('middle red cairn') and Càrn Beag Dearg ('little red cairn'), it forms the eastern arm of the horseshoe-shaped Ben Nevis massif.
