Beinn a' Chearcaill sits among the Torridon Hills of Wester Ross, south of Loch Maree. Very steep ground falls away to the south and west, which makes the top a good vantage point over its larger neighbours Liathach and Beinn Eighe. Ascents are usually made from the northern side.
