About Arenig Fawr South Ridge Top
Arenig Fawr South Ridge Top is a subsidiary top on the broad south ridge of Arenig Fawr, in southern Eryri. The surrounding ground is a scatter of rocky knolls and small tarns, and the summit is simply the highest outcrop among them, marked by a few stones.
The bulk of Arenig Fawr itself blocks much of the view. A path runs down the west flank of the ridge in the direction of Moel Llyfnant.

Which hill this one belongs to
Arenig Fawr South Ridge Top is not counted as an independent hill in its own right. In prominence terms it belongs to Arenig Fawr (854 m) — the nearest Marilyn you can reach from this summit without first dropping below its key col, 694 m.
Grouping is by prominence alone: a summit belongs to the nearest higher Marilyn it connects to without a deeper intervening col. Over a large massif that can gather hills no one would walk in a single day, and which few would describe as parts of the same mountain — it is a measure of independence, not a suggested route.
