About Dolau station
Dolau is an unstaffed single-platform station serving the small village of Dolau in Powys, mid Wales, on the Heart of Wales Line, with passenger services operated by Transport for Wales. It is a request stop for southbound trains only: trains heading towards Shrewsbury have to stop here regardless, so that the crew can activate the controls for the adjacent half-barrier level crossing. 818 passengers used the station in the year from April 2024 to March 2025.

A hill 8 km away in a straight line can be a much longer day on the ground — and on rural lines the last train home leaves early and some stations are request stops with a handful of services a day. Check live times and facilities for Dolau before you commit, plan the route on a proper map, and give the daylight planner your real finish time.
