About Sighty Crag
Sighty Crag is a 520-metre hill in the southern part of the Kielder Forest region of northern England, an area that also contains its fellow Marilyns of Peel Fell and Larriston Fells; the low valley holding the village of Kielder separates it from its higher and more shapely neighbour, Peel Fell. The summit is marked by a wind-worn outcrop of fell sandstone.
The hill occupies a particularly remote corner of northern Cumbria, although the Northumberland border runs over its north top only some 600 metres from the summit. With the nearest road four miles away, any walk to the top and back is at least eight miles long, and though not especially high, Sighty Crag is — in terms of distance from civilisation — the remotest Marilyn in the whole of England.

Finding the summit
outcrop is 5m WSW of trig point and 0.9m above FB.
The recorded summit point is outcrop. That distinction matters on broad or flat tops, where the obvious cairn is not always the true high point.

The Sighty Crag group
One other listed summit sits in the same prominence group, with Sighty Crag as the independent hill at its head.
| Summit | Height | Drop |
|---|---|---|
| Glendhu Hill | 514 m | 116 m |
Grouping is by prominence alone: a summit belongs to the nearest higher Marilyn it connects to without a deeper intervening col. Over a large massif that can gather hills no one would walk in a single day, and which few would describe as parts of the same mountain — it is a measure of independence, not a suggested route.
