About Sgurr a' Choire Ghlais
Set between Glen Strathfarrar and Glen Orrin, Sgurr a' Choire Ghlais is the highest of its group, which also holds the Munros Sgurr na Ruaidhe, Sgurr Fhuar-thuill and Carn nan Gobhar. Nothing to the north is higher until the Fannichs, and the hill is rated an excellent viewpoint.
Access is the main obstacle. It is among the hardest hills in Scotland to reach, the shortest line involving a ten-mile approach up Glen Strathfarrar; a bicycle or permission to drive the private road shortens matters.
