About Morven
Morven, A' Mhòr Bheinn in Gaelic, is the highest point in Caithness — a county that is otherwise generally low-lying, which leaves this conical hill visible from a great many places across it.
It is also among the most prominent mountains seen across the Moray Firth from around Buckie on clear days. The connection shows in local naming: Morven Crescent in Findochty takes its name from the view, Buckpool Golf Club's fifth hole is called Morven, and Morven View recurs as a house name in the Buckie area. A separate Morven stands in Aberdeenshire.
